Rivet Licker's style of foam falls contain rexlace, if you don't like the look, please don't order.

Foam strips can be either 0.75" ,1", 1.25" or 1.5" in width. Four (4) full sheets of foam will be used per fall (8 per pair). The wider the strips, the less strips you will get. Wider strips can be layered for more volume.

Unlimited colours, custom designs available for $10 extra.
Eg. *Foamies* foam stickers, custom foam symbols (e.g. band logo's, biohazard symbols etc.) hand drawn designs (e.g. circuit board print, leopard print etc.). 1/4" eyelets are currently available in silver only. Decorations and custom designs are limited to 5 strips of foam per fall (10 in total), additional charges apply for more.

Fake fringes are available to complete your look. They are available as synthetic or human hair.
Synthetic fringes are hand tied (100% handmade!!!) using Kanekalon fibre and sometimes Toyokalon.
Human hair fringes are made from 100% human hair (high quality European remy hair).
All fringes are available for $10 extra with custom orders, but are free if you spend over $200!

Synthetic fringes:

Human hair fringes:

Note for colour choices and allowance: When choosing colours, please be specific to the colour chart names. By saying for example "purple", it could mean a wide variety of shades. If you say purple, you will receive purple according to the colour chart and not anything else.
When you do choose your colours, you choose the shade (or colour + style for cyberlox), not the entire spectrum. If you want dreads in example black, green and pink, you will have to choose from the shades of green and pink available. Within the allowance, you cannot choose black, neon green, emerald green, baby pink, neon pink and hottest pink. You will be charged for these extra colour choices.
For cyberlox, saying what colour you want doesn't help. You MUST state what style. Saying "black" can mean plain black, metallic black, mini black, mini metallic black etc. The same rule applies with rexlace and smooth tubing.

NOTE FOR DREADS: Some dread colours may feel softer than others and could start unravelling due to the hair itself being problematic. Some brands/colours have a reputation for this. For the most part, my dreads can withstand a fair amount of wear, but NOT abuse from mosh pits, constant pulling or playing with them.

Custom orders/hygiene:
- I have a dog. If you are allergic, please don't order. Although he is clean and well looked after, he does spend time in my workspace (my room) but doesn't come near the hair.
- I always wash my hands before working with hair.

For install clients:
- I work out of home. I do not have a shop front.
- When coming for an install, please bare in mind that I am opening my home to you, I do wish for it to be respected.
- There are facilities available for your use (kitchen, bathroom, backyard for smoking).
- My parents may be home at times.
- I make sure everything is mostly tidy, but we are a busy family so we try our best.
- My dog is for the most part well tempered around people and likes it when clients come over for installs. If you are scared of dogs, I can travel to you.
- My policy on alcohol: you can BYO if you wish, at your discretion. I do have a small selection available. I am a drinker and will drink most stuff.
- My policy on food: I never have anything to offer. Please BYO snacks, but don't make a mess.
- STRICTLY NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ALLOWED.

Ordering:
- Enquiries can be made, but when ordering, please use the order forms listed. If you need a quote, please fill out an order form and write QUOTE WANTED in the message.
- The cost of your piece can be determined by the price list. Email me if you wish to enquire about using materials that are not listed or don't have a price allocation.

Refunds/Exchanges:
- You cannot get a refund or change your order once you have paid.
- You may change your order before payment.
- Once you have paid, I will be purchasing materials. I cannot cancel my order on materials once I have paid for them nor once they have been shipped.
- If you decide to cancel or change your order once it has been started, you will not receive a refund for wasted materials or time.

Payments:
- Must be made in full unless other arrangements have been made (i.e. gradual deposits).
- Orders will NOT be started or sent out until full payment and shipping costs have been received.

General:

Falls - Lace or elastic band mounted hair pieces that tie over ponytails or buns for a temporary change.

Kits
- Dreads made and sent to you individually to braid into your hair to
achieve the look of dreadlocks. Your hair must be at least 3 inches
(7cm) to wear dread extensions.

Single Enders
- Also known as 'Single Looped' dreads. They are one single dread that
have a loop at the top. You put your hair through the loop and braid
your hair down the dread. You need about 80+ depending on thickness of
your natural hair for a full head, less for an undercut/mohawk.

Double Enders
- Super long dreads than fold in half to create the appearance of two
dreads. One side is braided into your hair, the other falls over the
top so you get twice the volume from one section. You need about 40+
depending on thickness of your natural hair for a full head, less for
an undercut/mohawk.

Triple Enders - Modified dreads (usually sewn together as 1 DE and 1 SE or 3 SE's) to give the wearer more volume.

Felted Dreads - Felted from wool, and can be done in any of the styles mentioned. [COURTESY OF JUNGLE DREAD]

Roving Dreads - Made using pencil roving similar to a thick yarn. Usually only in plain colours, or transition. [COURTESY OF JUNGLE DREAD]

Blanketstitch braid - Type of braid used in dread installation that minimizes braid space on a dread.


Types of falls:

Dread falls - Falls based on dreads only.

Cyberlox falls - Falls based on tubular crin only.

Foam falls - Falls based on foam only.

Plastic falls - Falls based on plastics (eg Rexlace, tubing) only.

Mixed media falls - Falls based on two or more of the above materials/mixture of the falls.

Loose/Pony falls - Falls made with loose synthetic hair to mimic a ponytail.

"Cyber" falls - Mixed media falls with a cyber gothic style, usually black with neon, eg, dreads with tubular crin, smooth tubing, rexlace, foam etc.

"Raver" falls - Mixed media falls with a raver style, usually kandi colours, eg, tubular crin, smooth tubing, rexlace etc.

"Industrial" falls - Mixed media falls with an industrial/rivethead style, usually monochrome, eg, foam, corrugated tubing, smooth tubing, rexlace etc.

"Lolita" falls - Girly/doll style falls usually containing silky curls or curled dreads in pink shades.

"Goth" falls - Any plain black version of the above :P

Accent falls - Miniature version of a fall, often sold as premades from sellers. Run on the cheaper end if you can't afford a full set.

Accents in falls - A hint of an additional material in falls, eg, dread falls with rexlace accents or cyberlox falls with rexlace and smooth tubing accents.



Materials/Fibres:

Hair:

Kanekalon
- The type of modacrylic fibre used for dreads and good quality
synthetic wigs. Known as KK. Reacts to heat very well, though some
colours don't react as well because of the dyes. Brands such as Zury,
Modu, Black & Gold, Sensationnel, LA Trend, Rastafri, X-tensions
and Janet make 100% kanekalon braiding fibre.

100% Synthetic (written on packet)
- Polypropylene fibre (PP) hair. Has a nylony texture. Will not react
to heat like kanekalon. Only really good for braids and other no heat
projects such as boxbraid "dreads".

Monofibre -
Higher grade of kanekalon that is suitable for loose extensions. Will
make lovely dreads. Some monofibre hair (such as Doc Locks' Shape
Shifter) aren't easy to make dreads with because of the high threshold of heat
it can take and extra effort needed to seal into a dread shape. Brands
such as Plastikhaar and Prostyles make monofibre hair.

Toyokalon
- Synthetic fibre with a curl at the bottom (yaky pony) or completely
straight, curled, used in wefted synthetic hair and sometimes used in
manufactured dreads and braids. Bulk toyokalon is good for loose falls,
streaks and even dreads. Can be straightened and styled at low
temperatures.

Textures:

Jumbo braid
- Crimpy texture of braiding fibre to mimic that of African hair. The
best texture to use for dreads. Can be straightened for accents in
streaks, but will not achieve complete silkiness as that of silky
straight hair.

Silky braid
- Dead straight synthetic hair to mimic real hair. Great for loose
falls, streaks, fringes and even dreads, although a bit trickier to work with, not for the novice. It can be curled and styled at
low temperatures.

Yaki braid
- Slightly crimpy texture of synthetic hair (often assosciated with
toyokalon, but mostly made from PP, although a silkier variant), used
to mimic Asian hair. Can be used for loose falls, streaks and fringes.

50mm wave/Wave Switch - Synthetic hair with a wavey texture used to mimic European hair.

Silky curls - Often 100% synthetic fiber curled hair. Usually sold in bags with four double ended curls at 48" total, but different brands carry different lengths. Great for making lolita doll falls.

Other materials:

Tubular Crin - Also known as cyberlox, horse hair braid, swiss ribbon, crinoline etc. A super light, hollow, bouncy kind of ribbon made from a mesh like material. Comes in several diameters, but the most common are "regular" 3/4" and "mini" 1/4". Comes in practically any colour imaginable. Comes in styles such as plain, metallic (thread), metallic stripe, soft yarn, criss-cross (metallic accents). Quite pricey though.

Foam - A lightweight, soft, spongey material used primarily in childrens' crafts. It is cut into strips, left plain or decorated and mounted into falls. Comes in all the colours of the rainbow, can have glitter and even can come in different prints such as cow, leopard and checkerboard etc. Usually sold as A4 or A3 sheets, but different sizes can be found. Can be bought from craft stores or online for around $1.00USD/AUD per sheet.

Rexlace - Flat plastic/vinyl lacing. Can be found at craft stores or online. Comes in a wide array of colours and styles, solid, clear, glitter, glow in the dark, neon, dual colour, tri colour and holographic+metallic (britelace). Usually available in 100yd spools except britelace, which comes in 50yd spools or 10yd packs.

S'ghetti - Rexlace's round cousin. Solid vinyl lacing.

Scoubidous/Scoubie Lace - Another cousin to the Rexlace family. Hollow vinyl lacing.

Smooth Tubing - Jelly like tubing. Quite pricey compared to scoubies or s'ghetti. Often comes in diameters of 1mm, 2.5mm and 5mm and several colours.

Corrugated Tubing/Split Loom - Tubing intended for looming around wires/cabling for organisation or protection. Looks great in falls though. Comes in many diameters and several colours, but is quite heavy.


Dreads:

Terminology:

Backcombing
- Literal meaning of combing in the opposite direction as to which the
hair would 'grow'. Teasing. A well backcombed dread can support its own
weight and won't flop around when held upright.

Taper
- Synthetic dreads will usually have an even taper (going thick to thin
at an even rate), but some taper a lot more dramatically (very thick at
the top to very thin half way down the dread to the ends), which can
leave a nice effect.

Twisting
- The process where the backcombed synthetic hair is twisted into a
dread shape. Twisting is important and needs to be done a certain way
for the dread to stay in its shape. Helixing (loosening spiral effect)
can happen if the dread hasn't been smoothed in a downward direction
whilst twisting.

Sealing
- Using heat to manipulate backcombed synthetic hair that has been
twisted into a dread shape. Heat can come in dry (hair dryer) or wet
(steam from a steam cleaner, kettle, boiling water, clothes iron and
wet towel, hair straightener/flat iron and wet cloth) form, wet being
the better. Steaming with a steam cleaner is probably the easiest and
preferred method, although the other methods are just as widely used.

Braid sealer - Device available from specialist beauty supply stores to melt and cut the ends of braids, but is also widely used for dread ends. Run for about $30USD online.


Styles:

For both SE & DE dreads:

Solid - Single coloured dread.

Swirled/Candycane - Two or more colours swirled together to created a candycane effect.

Transitional
- A dread that starts one colour and transitions to another. Usually
only two or three colours but some have been known to create
transitionals with up to 6 colours!

Blended - Two or more colours of synthetic hair blended together to create a new colour or unique pattern.

Striped - Dreads with a striped pattern, not to be confused with swirls/candycanes.

Criss-Cross/'Bondage' dreads - Dreads criss-crossed with hair, not like LS-Seven's, but more so hair wrapped around in a criss-cross pattern.

Knotty Dreads - LS-Seven as an example. Dreads that are backcombed, then wrapped in several layers of loose hair in a non-uniform pattern to create a textured look with the ends usually braided.

Boxbraid Dreads - Method of braiding, where four bits of hair are backcombed, then 4-way braided into a dread shape, but look like little boxes running down the length.

DE dreads only:

Harlequin - DE dread where one side of the dread is one colour/pattern, the other side different.


Fun names for dreads (some I made up, some made up by others):

Harlecane - Harlequin dread with swirls.

Transiquin - Harlequin dread with transitionals.

Transicane - Transition to candycane.

Transiblend - Transition to blend.


FAQs:

How long does my hair have to be to wear dread.falls?
Your hair has to be long enough to tie up in a high ponytail (for a single fall) or high pigtails 'bunches' (for a pair), then twisted and pinned into buns. The larger your bun, the higher your dread count should be for the best coverage possible. This also applies for any other form of 'lace mounted' falls, including foam.falls and mixed media. My cyberlox are mounted on hair ties, making them easier to put in shorter hair.

My dreads smell, what do I do?
So your dreads have an after wear smell. The best thing you can do is hang them out to air for a day. You can spray them with febreeze which will kill the sweat and smoke smells, leaving your dreads with the yucky fragrance of the product, but it will kill the odour causing bacteria. Airing your dreads out naturally is the best thing to do.
Don't get them wet or wash them!

My dreads are starting to unravel or go über fuzzy, why?
Dread.falls aren't recommended to be worn in moshpits or in any other violent/messy situation (that means no hanky panky in falls, extensions yes, but falls no!). If they start to soften early on without experiencing those situations, it could just be the synthetic hair being a problematic colour that just won't seal. There are odd batches that do that. There's a whole thread on the hair extensions forum where people can bitch about these. So far, the colours I have used seal perfectly but WILL soften over time, without unravelling.
Do not be alarmed, dreads do fuzz up over time and this only adds more character to them! They're not smooth to begin with, so don't get your panties in a twist!
If you need to solve the problem of the rouge soft dread that's decided to go loose on you, twist the dread below the loose point then grab a hair dryer and blast the loose spot (keep the hair dryer moving constantly to avoid crisping up the poor dread). Keep the dread twisted until it cools completely. You can use the cool air setting on your hair dryer for that.

My cyberlox are out of shape, how did that happen?
There's three reasons. The crin used in the piece was out of shape when it came from the suppler, suffered from a rough trip to you or you're not telling me something. Did you constantly play with them or let others pull them? Don't pull! If they get out of shape, do the opposite of what you've been doing, push the crin into itself and hold for a bit. It should spring back to normal.
Long length cyberlox (over 18") tend to have more weight pulling them down, so they may stretch out more than a shorter pair.

My scalp is all itchy, sore and red and I have a headache, why must you punish me for trying to look good?
Well, you can take care of your scalp by using a medicated shampoo and not wear your falls all the time.
Your headache is from the pulling of your hair in those bunches. If you're a newbie to wearing falls, start with a lighter fall. If you have fine hair, don't torture yourself trying to have the hugest hair out there, start off small and as your scalp gets used to the weight, progress to a fuller fall. In the meantime, painkillers may help.
Headaches are also caused by the pins holding your bun together, poking and prodding at your scalp. Make sure they don't go near there. If you can, use lace or elastic to reinforce your buns.

I do dread installs* in the Sydney Metro area (all of Sydney including Campbelltown, Penrith and Upper North Shore/Beaches).

I can come to you or you can come to me (in Maroubra).

$25 per hour (plus travelling costs, surcharges after 7pm and weekends. If you come to me, these surcharges don't apply.)

Service times usually are:
1 - 2 hours for mohawk, high undercut, fine hair
2 - 3 hours for mohawk, undercut with fringe, long hair, fine hair
3 - 4 hours for undercut, thick hair, long hair, full head with fringe
4 - 5 hours for full head, fine hair
5 - 6 hours for full head, thick hair, long hair

If install runs over 6 hours, you will be capped at $150.

Installs are done with triangle sectioning for maximum coverage of "bald spots", but other sectioning can be done on request.
Dreads are braided in with blanket stitch, a neat way of concealing long hair into short and tidy braids. Please visit my customer snaps album to view my blanket stitch braiding. Braids are tied off with strong RUBBER elastic bands, not the cheap plastic ones from $2 shops. These elastics will last for a long time.
Your hair must be AT LEAST 3" long, preferrably 4" and longer.
Your dreads can be kept in for 6 - 8 weeks before needing removal and reinstallation*. Any longer than this recommended period and your hair may start to dread at the roots.

Please be aware that I will not rush an install. I take my time with these things so that you can get the best wear out of them. You will be sitting down for a long period of time. You will get bathroom and short stretch breaks.
Please do bring some snacks to munch on, you will get hungry (and I probably will too at some point too!) Nothing messy though.
